How can I cancel my subscription?

First off, we are sorry to see you researching this question. If you can be swayed into staying with us, please email us at [email protected] so that we can address your concerns and attempt to make it right.

Otherwise, you can cancel the renewal of your subscription anytime through your account settings. You will still be protected through the next billing cycle of your plan and then will be placed in inactive status after.

I cannot access my account, what now?

If you cannot access your account you can reset your password through the login screen. However, if you are still having trouble, it’s possible that you may not have an account with DeleteMyInfo and rather you signed up in the past with another company called DeleteMe. Your login credentials will not work on our website if you have a membership with them. It is common that people to get us mixed up.

If you are sure that you have an account with us, and your password reset is not working, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can assist you.

How do I reset my password?

You can reset your password by going to the login screen and selecting “Forgot Password”. This will prompt you to input your email address and a link will be sent to you to reset your password.

Do you monitor these sites for my information 24/7/365?

DeleteMyInfo monitors for your information periodically (typically monthly) and also when you submit a removal request to us in between these periods. Because Data Brokers do not like companies like DeleteMyInfo, they take measures to prevent automatic scanning of these websites.

Why do I need to renew my subscription if you deleted my information?

Data brokers never stop mining your information. Even though we have deleted your information off their sites initially, it will inevitably be published again. We continuously monitor for it to reappear and then re-request it to be removed, in perpetuity while you are a member with us.

If you cancel the renewal of your subscription you will be protected until that subscription period is over. We recommend you check these sites occasionally (monthly) and submit the opt-requests yourself.

I found my data on a data broker site after it says it’s been deleted, what now?

If your information is found on a data broker’s website that was marked deleted on your privacy report, please let us know via

Our team will go in and immediately request for it to be taken down. If the profile has been deleted from the broker site already and is only visible on the Google search results, it will only take 24-48hours to be removed.

Data Brokers continuously scrape and publish your information, this scenario was likely due to your information being republished by this website.

I signed up but I still see my information on Google, what gives?

DeleteMyInfo is the fastest at finding and submitting your opt-out requests, however, data brokers can take up to 14 days to process our requests to remove your data from their websites.

 

Additionally, Google can show your “results” that used to exist on these pages even after they have been removed. It’s called “Google Indexing” and it will eventually disappear altogether once you’re deleted from the site and the google bot checks the website again.

Why do you only remove from 50 sites, when the other company removes from 110?

We searched for 1,000 individuals on 100 data broker websites and found that 99% of all information was only published on the top 50 brokers.

We will remove it from more than 50 main broker sites and if you find your information somewhere else broker sites, you can let us know, however, it is unlikely that you will find it on “110 sites across the internet”.

**When companies claim they remove from this many sites, it is only to make you feel like you’re getting more value when in reality they’re only finding your information on a limited number of websites.

Does DeleteMyInfo improve my search results?

Data brokers have high SEO (search engine optimization) results that will typically rank higher than any other search results. When we remove your information from these websites, they eventually disappear from google search results and the pages you want to appear on (Business pages, LinkedIn, etc) will start to surface at the top.

How do people make money from my information?

Your information is not worth much when it is scattered all over the internet in bits and pieces, but when data brokers collect it together into a profile it can be desirable information to marketing agencies, spammers, stalkers, ex’s, etc.

All amounts paid are non-refundable and non-transferable and DeleteMyInfo has the right to refuse any refund request for reasons including but not limited to the following:

  • Customers changed their minds.
  • Customers forgot to cancel before the subscription automatic renewal.
  • Customers ordered the Services by mistake.
  • Customers asking for goodwill.
  • Customers failed to provide DeleteMyInfo with detailed information about the problem they experience with the Services, which prevents us from investigating the situation.
  • Customers breached the Terms.
  • DeleteMyInfo found that customers are using the Services fraudulently or that the account is being used by a third party fraudulently.

In exceptional circumstances, a refund may be approved by our support team, provided customers have shown evidence that the case merits the refund.

N.B. When claiming a refund, customers accept full responsibility for confirming that all the information they have provided to us is true and complete.

Annual Subscriptions

  • Cancelation requests before the 3rd-month ends will be pended until the end of their 3rd month;
  • Cancelation requests after completing the 1st 3 months will be pended until the end of the current month.
  • The refunded amount will be prorated for the number of remaining months of the subscription.

Computation:

Refund Amount = Amount Paid  (No. of months usedmin of 3months x No. of members x $13.99regular rate per month)

All refunds will be processed within 3-5 business days after it has been approved. The refund will be paid using the same manner as it was used for the initial payment.

How long does it take to remove my data?

I heard I can remove my information from data brokers for free, why pay?

Yes, you can, however, the process can be really tedious and complicated.

You can start by searching your name in Google, take note that not all broker sites will appear on the search results, and doesn’t mean it didn’t show, it’s safe. You should be familiar with all the brokers’ sites keeping and selling your personal information. Each broker site has its own process and requirements to process your removal request – some websites need you to fill out forms; others require emails, and others request receiving confirmation codes via robocalls.

After you’ve submitted your opt-out request, you’ll need to keep an eye on and check if the listing has actually been removed. There are sites that will remove your listing immediately, while others will take days to weeks to complete the removal.

After these efforts, you should know that these brokers’ sites update their databases with new information all the time and your unauthorized profiles can reappear. You need to come back to these sites from time to time (ideally once a month) to check whether this has happened and submit a new opt-out request if your information has reappeared. Another thing that you need to know is that even after your information has been removed from the broker sites, there’s a chance that it will still appear on the Google search results and you need to request for google to remove them – yes, another complicated process.

Just processing the removal request will take roughly 10-15minutes per broker site (there are around 50 main broker sites that you need to work on). It’s up to you how often you will recheck if your information has been removed or reappeared on the brokers’ sites.

Can DeleteMyInfo delete my public records or arrest records?

DeleteMyInfo does not have the authority to delete information published by government agencies (such as your county property appraiser, county jail, sheriff’s office, etc.).
